Default Alpine Type Rs in a vented enclosure....

Ran 2 12' Type Rs in a 3.0^3 ported with square port tuned to 38 hz (5x5x11 in). I would like to be louder.

If I ran 2.0^3 over 1.5^3 for each sub would it help or hurt? And would a slot vent for each sub help me gain output or should I stick with the same box as above and tune higher? I am willing to lose some SQ for output.

If you want it loud you have 2 options.

Tune higher, since you are at 38 you don't want to go above that
Add more power.

I would just get a sub better suited for what you want. If you want loud and descent to excellent sq look at the RE xxx, w7's, EA 12A. The Elementals are the best bang for the buck out of the group. Last I checked they were around 275 each. The orion h2 is pretty popular, but I have not checked pricing on them.

puddz, 38hz is not LOW bass.

Well, all of my audio **** was just stolen out of my car and no more type Rs. Welcome Alpine cda-9835, Hifonics bx1500d and 15' solobaric L7 in a 4^3 ft ported tuned to 35hz.
