Is RSX-S fast enough to take the golf 1.8T and VR6?
I seriously wanna know about this, any of your friends raced with a vr6 or 1.8T?
Well, I'm talkin about stock here.
I've also heard that the RSX-S can take the R.

It all depends on driver, but given equal drivers, stock for stock an RSX-S will beat both VW's. The VR6 is probably a little quicker stock. But if the 1.8T is chipped then it is a differnet story.
mkIV Golf and Jetta VR6's are considerably slower than the mkIII's (94-99) due to increased weight and less favorable gearing. In a stoplight duel, I'd say the RSX-S should handily beat the new ones and have a tough time, but should ultimately beat the mkIII's. Having owned a 97 GTI VR6, I can say, those cars have great torque and all the but a perfect launch with an RSX you be at a disadvantage and probably have to play catch up till about 75 or so as the VR6 will leave you off the line.
The 1.8T's stock, you shouldn't have any trouble, but chipped they'll probably be at least as fast as the mkIII VR6's but more likely a little faster which means it'll be a tight race which could go either way depending on how much boost that little 1.8T is running.
And the TypeR's, puh-leeze....I'm just kidding. I think this one depends on driver. I think the cars are pretty evenly matched and it just comes down to execution on the start and making good clean shifts.

Ya i tink the RSX will take both stock..the 2.8T is not fast in stock form... so that shouldent be a problem...the VR6 would be close..
yeah a stinkin GSR could take a stupid VR6, - I have
they may have a few more hp but are heavier, so it ends up being almost dead even.
and those 1.8 turbos are gay too
my NA 1.8 makes more horse than those 1.8 Turbos (150 hp)
Bells should go off when you read that * DING DING*

Ok first of all the original question said stock.. sure a chipped Audi A4 1.8T could beat the pants off alot of cars. The same goes for any turbo car.
Since no year was specified Im going to assume 2002.
Note the 2000 A4 made 20hp, but weighed 254lbs less.
I couldnt find any 1/4 mile times for either.
'02 Audi A4 1.8T
170 @5900rpm -same hp as a GSR
166 @5000rpm -alot more than the Integras 128
3,252 lbs -ooo too bad you got a fat ***, its all over folks.
All I have to say is I wouldnt get too nervous if some rich college boy pulled up next to me in his "Audi"...

The new 180hp 1.8t feels considerably quicker than the VR6, but I don't know if it actually is.
Regardless, both the VR6 and the 1.8t are a shitload of fun to drive. The torque can seem a bit unruly at first (especially to someone used to Hondas) but it gets addictive quickly. I can't wait for the 2002 4-valve VR6 comes out. That's going to be interesting...

Is that one going to be 220hp? i thought the VR6 would have gain too... but..
muckman.... the gti is most likely a lot lighter then the audi.. so wouldnt it make sense if it does beat the rsx? i donno.. i just have a lot of faith in that car.. haha i was so close to getting that instead of the rsx.hahah.
