is there a set of codes for the maint reqd light, and if so how to get the codes themselves and how to find out which the car is putting out to make the light come on.

that was a jackass answer... if its ur maint light then dont worry about it.. it has no codes... just a timing thing that acura put on there to tell u to bring the car to them to spend money.. it just means u might need maintaince like plugs wires etc.. nothing big.. now if its a check engine light then look at the top of this forum and read the thread i started , it tells u how to check the ecu code and waht it means

 

i am in need of brakes, and i have a feeling the abs might have tripped the light, is there any way to tell for sure? I also have a fear that it may be the timing belt, do i have to just plug it into a scanner?

 

if its a main light then that has nothing to to with timing belt or abs... abs light will go off if there is something wrong with that... main light has nothing to do with codes.... that would be the check engine light.... thers a box under the dash to the right of the sterring wheel with a square button on it... cut the ignition on too acc, and press and hold that button for 10 secs.. the main light will go off... how many miles do ub have

 

appx, 112k. I cant believe i didnt know where that button is.

 

yeah that light is nothing..... but i do suggest replacing the timing belt and water pump asap

there were alot of threads about this and i think he would have found it quicker if he searched...just freaking helping him out...

 

so to clarify once more, there is no sensor anywhere th\at will trip the maint light, it is timed only?

 

yep just a timed light first one comes on at 7500 miles i beleive

the light is simply to tell you that you need to change your oil...it is timed based on a 7,000mi oil change interval. It does NOT do anything else.
