Default Recommended Starter Modifications?

I'm just wondering, but what do you guys recommend for starter modifications?

I was thinking internal work (better displacement? higher compression?), a custom exhaust, and a CAI. Then brake and suspension work? What order would you guys put your modifications on? (if you had an unlimited budget, of course)

and no, I don't have a car . I'm just wanting to get an idea before I even have a car .

intake, header, exhaust seems to be a popular starting point.

1st get the car (whichever one you end up with).

2nd get to an autocross or track (HPDE) with a sanctioned club like SCCA or NASA and get some seat time.

3rd by now, tires and brake pads will look alot more intriguing than more power.

4th get even more seat time

5th end first season with as much seat time as possible and then take time to ponder your goals and budget. Safety equipment, tires and brakes are important to start with. Suspension is a possible next big step and or bolt on's like I,H&E. But, imho whats the use of having loads or much extra power if you can't use it and handle the car in stock form. Besides, any significant power improvement for the R won't come cheap.

Goals and budget are the two biggest factors you must take into consideration before creating any hypothetical wish list.

Plus it helps if you actually have the car.

Hehe.. I've been gathering as much knowledge as I can on this ..

Would internals first be smart? Just a thought.. have a built block first, then the other stuff .

I'm gonna quit while I'm ahead here but, why are you doing internals again? You plannin on tearin the engine down and rebuildin it from scratch for some odd reason.

Just get a car first and learn how to drive it.

Best of luck
