Erick's Racing?? What the????
Well i called Erick's racing today , to check out and ask what exactly a balance and blueprinting is, and to check some prices. I really didn't know. But i was a bit surprised the knoledge they actually handed me, this is the convo(short):
Me: Hello, i was calling to ask if you do anytype of balancing services, expecially for cranks.
ER: No, we do that to the head(By this time i'm just confused)
Me: .......... What exactly is a balance and blueprint on a block??
ER I don't know
Me: So you don't know what a balance and blueprint is on a block?
ER: No we send all our stuff to RS Machines.
Me: Ok......Is their somebody around who actually knows??
ER: No just chack our website http://www.er
Me: Yes yes i checked your site, thanks anyways.
ER: Ok
Me: Click"
Is this true..Whats going on. I never knew they actually sent their stuff to RS Machines. Did anybody know this? I thought they did their own work and how could they not know?

i beleive he's from nicaragua...or something to that effect. He probably didnt understand you too well. They do know theyre **** though(or at least erick does)..the heads do get sent off,but the blocks only go out for sleeving/machine work..erick builds the engines tough.
I have a friend that had a bad experience with a motor that was assembled by them. This was sense july of last year.
It wasn't a crazy race engine either just a reliable street build. 11.5-1 roller-waves 82mm, eagle rods, toda b's, toda valve springs, portflow retainers, new type r valves, portflow head.
Erick's racing assembled the head and block.
When my friend got the engine in his car and running. He broke it in, in steps. And noticed that there was a small oil leak coming from somewhere by the cam gears. So he took it back and they wanted to charge him to fix it.
He declined and was going to fix it himself. We have done cams and headgaskets on his old dohc vtec motor so it wasn't a big deal. We never got around to fixing it but it wasn't a big leak os it wasn't a big deal. At least it didn't seem like it.
A few days later he was taking his car for a spin and accelerated up to 5k and click... nothing. Dropped a valve. Put a hole in one of the pistions "the size of texas". Thats how he told me over the phone. So now he's looking into getting the block sleeved.
When we pulled the head of to investigate the oil was leaking from one of those big hex nuts that holds the follower shafts in place. It was only finger tight.
He brought some photos and his finding to Erick's and it was tuff luck, **** happens.
When he was there he got the impression that there was a trainee mechanic that wasn't being supervised.
cliffs:
friend has long block professionally assembled
It leaks oil because of improper assembly
drops valve after about 1k miles
Friend is sol. and wont trust any of Erick's "mechanics" within 50yds of his car

No, Eric is from Guatelmala,,,look at his car. His hometown in written on the car. The other guys are from San Salvador, Nigerua (sp), etc, etc, etc.
The reason I know this cause I talk to Eric last year when he was in town for the NDRA. I've talk to the other guys that picks up the phone, cool guys.
But I'm sure they get like 100 phone calls a day and ask the same question over and over. **** gets tireing after awhile.

they send their stuff out to RS for balancing/block sleeving and etc...
so you should be calling RS for your question.
