Default Lower grill question/problem

Hi!

I am planning to install the lower grill on my civic coupe cos now I have the stock plastic on it + 2 OEM foglights that I DO NOT LIKE... so if I just take of the fogs, there will be a hole... so I just decided to install a grill...

Now there is a problem... my friend had the grill installed on his hatch (that has the exact lower grill like mine) and in the summer, his car was constantly overheating... he exchanged coolants, waterpumps, thermostate, everything and the problem was still there - UNTIL HE TOOK OF THE GRILL... from that moment he has NO PROBLEM with overhaeating...

He showed me the grill and it looked fine to me... the holes look OK...

So he advised me NOT to install the grill and leave the car that way...

What do you guys think???

Should I go with the grill or should I keep the fogs...

Anyway, here's the link so you can see how those fogs look like...

Ya, those fogs look weird. Personally I'd take the whole area out and mesh it. I'll probably get flamed for that though. I'm not sure why, but everyone is anti-mesh.
