Default em1/ek Guys I have a Question!!!

I was going to remove my front bumper today, and I noticed that my car has this little strip that goes from the bumper around to almost the sideskirts. Its on the outside of course and seems to be glued on there. That would mean trouble if I take my bumper off right? Like the Bumper would pull the strip up and Id be left w/ dark glue in that area?!?! Anyone else had this prob? I don't know the correct term for this part--so Bare w/ me. Please help me out--I hope this is in the right forum so Ricey Mcricerton doesn't hate! Heres some pics, they may be a little
big...

I hope you can tell what i'm talking about. Thanks to anyone who can help

No I don't believe it was in a previous accident. But Hey I havent had the car but a few months--so I cant really speak on it. If it was an oem option I doubt they'd leave it un-painted on an SI, b/c everything is painted on an em1. I removed the strip today and cleaned it up--it looks nice. Thanks for the advice v8. After i pulled the strip it left mega glue on there. So my boy and I took an eraser and attached it to a drill and erased it off. It looks Mega Nice.

looks like the black molding, don't pell it off or u will have a spot without paint, i took some off my fenders i bought and it had stock paint under it, good thing i did it before i painted it.

is it black molding strip, mine had that, i took it off, before i painted it.

I already posted that I took it off, it had the original paint under it. SO Im guessing it was a dealership option in reference to CptCorN I cleaned it up and it looks MEGA nice....
