Well i was sitting at a stop sign waiting to turn and my buddy was with me. All the sudden some idiot kid slams into the back of me. I know i need a bumper but when i looked at the truck i can stick my finger in the left side of the trunk. Do i need a new trunk or can this be aligned. O and the bumper was a certa-fit bumper im pretty surprised at how well this thing held up after this car not even cracked just pushed in it looks like it can be popped right back out not a bad bumper for 38 bucks.

i just hate damn stupid driver that can't drive for sh*t. everytime im at the stop light im always afraid someone is gona hit me. but yea, get a new bumper & see if you can bend the trunk back to normal

I actually have the same problem I have a '93 del sol that got hit by some stupid lady and cost me $2,300 to get fixed and my trunk still doesnt close right so I dont know if its bent or not but what I am going to do is I have already bought another used trunk and im going to put it on to see if it works and if not so that means the hinge is sprung from the impact maybe you have the same problem. Dont know if that helped any but figured I would share a similar experience with a wreck and trunk problem.

if money shortage is a problem just pop it out and use zip ties to hold the thing on. if not, the ur gonna need a new bumper and the rear latch prolly got hit up. take a BFH and knock the whole thing down till it lines back up. my old 97 i had to do that, its gonna be hard to make it line up perfect again though sorry to say. it doesnt look like the hatch got hit at all so in my opinion you wont need that. does the hatch shut easy???

looks like you only need a bumper. the latch might have been bumped and may need to be adjusted. a few love taps with a rubber mallet will help if the latch got knocked outta alignment.

Im going through his insurance. Thank god i didnt have my type r replica lip on there that thing would have been shattered. i can stick my fingers in the left side of my trunk near the light right there its a pretty good gap they wont replace the hatch would they? I took at hose to it and water comes in the car. I dont know if the the support bar on the back is bent but i looked up and the inside of the bumper is all scratched up. The kid didnt want me to call the cops but my buddy was in the car and hes a cop hes like i would report it then the kid could say he never hit me after the we left.

my old hatch had been hit in the rear...and about everywhere else.

but the hatch was the same way, had bad gaps.

i played around with the latch and got the hatch where it lined up better. it wasnt perfect, but it was better than a big gap on one side.

same thing happend to me, same gap and all, when the shop put it back on the gap was gone.
but still cost the guy a 1000 lol we didnt call the cops and it was a 3 car accident as long as you get all the info, there is no need to call the cops.

Look's like you just need a OEM bumper and get it lined up.

always always ALWAYS get a police report via calling the cops to the location

unless someone is dying and no one has a cell to dial 911, stay at teh scene and wait for the police

mattliston---they actully tell you not to call if damage isnt that bad, i should have cause 1 car was totaled (pos eg coupe) but all 3 drove away no need to call when i got info of everyone a whitness.

i know you should call but sometimes theres really no point... i wish i would so the idoit kid would have gotten a ticket.
