Default the difference between a jdm & usdm tranny

Can anyone tell me how i can tell the difference between a JDM & USDM Tranny, I know the JDM has the 4.7 final drive and thats what i want i juss need to make sure i dont get the wrong tranny and end up with a USDM final drive. Do the letters J4D or L4D or R4 mean anything? I didnt know if them letters meant thing for the final drive

JDM trans also has the taller (same as USDM GSR) 4th and 5th gears.

I like the stock US ITR trans just fine.

the jdm 98 spec trannies have n3e lsd maked on them.

And these are the ones with the 4.785 FD and the 4/5 Gsr gearing.

96-97 are identical to a USDM ITR tranny.
