are the gear ratios on the 92-95 si/ex tranny the same as the 00 ex y8 tranny? i dont know wat motor is in the 92-95 si hatch/ ex coupe so any info would be great.. thanx in adnce guys

D16z6 is the motor in the 92-95 Si HB/ EX coupe.... In MistaBone's tranny page I think he says that theres a difference in gearing between the Ex n Si just go to search and search for it u'll probably find a link to his page in one of the topics..

i search his SN and nothing came up.. i aslo tried searching "tranny page" and nothing came up.. can anyone link me to this thread?

BTW which would be a better tranny? the Z6 or the Y8?

The D16Z6 and D16Y8 transmissions have the exact same gear ratios, except that the D16Z6 from the Civic Si HB and Del Sol Si has a shorter 5th gear. The Y8 transmission has steel shift forks, which are much better for longevity as opposed to the aluminium ones in the Z6 tranny.

i think my shifter fork in my Y8 broke in 2nd gear.. it grinds like crazy at times.. is there anyway to fix the shifter fork?? my cousin have a Z6 tranny layin around if i decide to change the whole tranny out but i wanna stick with my Y8.. wats the best way to go about this?
