Sounds about right...I remember going up slight hills on the highway and having to downshift to fourth to keep the thing going.

According to the calculator that you all are too lazy to use, in a VX tranny @ 80MPH

2nd gear: 6800 RPM
3rd gear: 4100 RPM
4th gear: 3300 RPM
5th gear: 2700 RPM

The 2600 RPM theory is accurate.

Haha, I wish I would have tried doing 80 in second before the tranny blew up, that would be crazy.

Holy ****...someone please throw a VX tranny on a built D16Z6 and head to the utah salt flats...if you take it to 8500 in 5th gear on some 195-60-15's you'll be doing 251 mph! LoL

oh ok. i was assuming this was on a stock vx engine also. i know my vx sure as hell wont rev to 6800. redline is 6k, limiter kicks in at about 6200. if you still want me to go out and test it, let me know. i am hitting up the highway tonight. reading comprehension owns me.
