Default Do Skunk2 Stage 2 cams smog?

Do Skunk2 Stage 2 cams smog? Im planning to get these with my new motor. Also, i read that I need to upgrade the valvetrain. Which parts? Springs, ti-retainers and valves? Thanks.

Well like when you smog, they do a quick visual check, then they use the sniffer. Obviously, they can't see the cams have been replaced, so im asking if they will pass the sniff test.

If its tuned probably, but to tune it involves products that wont pass smog, so again i would have to say no. But dont quote me on it.

I heard a rumor (never found out if its true or not) that you could do head work and pass smog, but once you do block work you fail, can anyone back that up?

My GSR motor passed at the ref with ITR pistons, and and a slight mill, with bolt ons.
On my old motor, B16 with an LS crank and JE pistons, it had a port/polished head, and it passed with a lot of de-tuning. Ran like ****, but it passed by the numbers. Really just depends on how clean the motor runs, every motor is different.
I've never heard of anyone trying to pass with stage 2's, I think it might be tough.

Rodrez has it on the dot, my buddies car passed smog with 403's stock b16 block in a reffed EG. The head is fully built and has a set 403's (slightly bigger then skunk2 stage 2's). After 2 hours of detuning (hondata)and going to the next door gas station and running a few free pre-tests the car finally was with in emmision limits, we then drove to teh test only spot and the car passed, it barely passed but it did.

I have the belief that almost any cam or headwork can be made to pass smog. however, you shouldn't expect your car to be running anywhere near great when you take it. it willl take alot of work to get it to pass, and even then it may barely pass.
