Default Swapping my trans this weekend........ any advice or tips?

If all goes well i will be picking up my itr trans on friday and begin swapping on saturday. I was just wondering if any of you guys have any tips or things to watch out for etc..... I will have access to a lift and air tools and all other tools imaginable so im hoping things will go smoothly......

I do have a couple of questions to start:

1. Will MTF fluid from honda work for the itr trans? I know since it has a helical lsd it might take a different fluid but i figured since it wasnt a clutch type lsd that might not be the case.

2. Throw out bearing - just use a lil bit of lithium grease on the inner race? Wasnt sure on the proper amount of lubricant.

3. Will the gsr slave cylinder work for the itr as well?

Thanx a ton guys, any input would be awesome........

1 - yes. redline mtl or gm synchromesh fm or any gl4 designed for lsd might work better
2 - i dunno about lithium grease - i used high temp synthetic grease - a decent amount - also lube the fork and the input shaft spline (grease it paper thin)
3 - yes

only reason i ask is because i hear if you use alot of the grease that it attracts dirt / clutch dust etc. that lowers the bearing life........ not sure if there is any truth to this........

sounds good.

yeah im not too sure about how grease reacts with the dust created by the clutch.

i used valvoline high temp synthetic grease from autozone - comes in a round can. it's on the shelf next to the gear oils.

I basically put on a decent amount but not so much that it's gonna be dripping and being flung everywhere. what i would suggest is grease it up, move the throwout bearing back and forth and wipe the excess grease that will collect. it isnt going to be doing any good anyways.

good luck
