Help with my Honda Civic 2001 Ex
Hello guys,
I am new to this forum.
Well I have a question for the real junkies out there.
I have a 2001 honda civic ex 2dr, Manual transmission.
I just bought my car 4 months ago
Well, My car has totally lost power.
I dont know what happend. I put some fuel injector cleaner in it and all. Did an oil change and stuff like that.
I figured maybee it is time to change the fuel filter. I went to advanced auto parts, I met with a buddy that I used to go to school with. And me and him got together outside and he told me my car does not have a fuel filter.
I thought that was weird. So then I asked him, you think it might be my air filter? And he said maybee. We tried to look at my air filter and he saw that I am missing some bolts that hold my air filter and the other little filter next to the air filter (I dont know the name of this filter), The bolts hold the units onto the engine I belive.
He told me this might not be too much of a problem. So we tried to access my air filter. The one screw that holds the top on the unit that holds my air filter is stripped. I said heck with it and told him Id take it to the honda dealership.
Well, the reason I think the air filter is a problem, is becouse I work construction. And the jobsite that I work on is a 2 mile long HARSH bumpy dirt road with alot of sticks, etc. And dust is quite plentifull. I dont know if my air filter needs to be changed yet since the car is fairly new from the dealership.
Ahhh guys I dont know, maybee one of you guys would know.....
also im having probelms with my clutch, I find the least bit of the relase of the clutch when I am completly taking my foot off the clutch it rides the clutch and doesnt fully go into gear till my foot is off the clutch. My clutch used to go into gear about half way when I release my foot, now its when my foot is about 98% off the clutch it finally goes into gear. now I have to completly dump the clutch to avoid riding the clutch. ARGH
Guys I dont know what to do,
Maybee some of your advice can help me out with what I need to do.
I have no time to take it to the honda dealership, I work 7a to 5p and same hours every saturday, HARSH boss.
Any advice all?
Thanks guys!
Brandon
