do rear brakes work as much as front
Agreed. Don't spend a lot of money on the rear brakes. Just make sure the brakes are proportioned front /rear correctly. If you have an SI, I believe you already have a stock proportioning valve. Upgraded brake pads and good tires are the best bang for the buck for braking improvement.
A good way to see just how little your back brakes do is using the ebrake to lock em up on a big gravel spot it barely slows the car down at all.
I am getting alot of brake squeal from my car. I just replaced the rotors and pads on the front and am hoping it is not them. The thing is is when I roll down the windows I hear it really good and it sounds like it is coming from the back. So is it possible that my rears are squealing or is it most likely my fronts?
It could very well be your rears. I know mine are squeeking a little. They usually stay hotter for longer compared to the fronts because they're not vented. I've seen the rears, after a short cool down period, at over 100deg F higher than the fronts. Another thing that promotes rear rotor warpage, is to pull the e-brake when you park the car while the brakes are still hot.

They should design rear brakes more efficiently. If you have to slam on the brakes sometimes u can feel the back end get squirmy.... pretty scary..

I mean if you use ebrake on gravel it makes you slide waaaaay farther than if u just slam on the brakes with or without alb. Trying to give example of the power of the rear brakes. BTW how do you have 0 post?
