What are the odds of lining up next to a Ferrari 355 at a red light and a clear road in front of you? Its like winning the frickin' lottery....

Yes, the Ferrari was trying...a car is only as good as it's driver, and apparently he doesn't practice his launching technique too often.

As for trying to ignor the R, no...didn't you hear him revving his motor?! As Chris mentioned, he said, "Let's see what you got!" Then he was just concentrating on the road ahead waiting for the light to turn green.

Add one more vote to the "It's like winning the frieking Lotto" excuse! And remember, this was on a Sunday morning at 8:30...

The rest of what? We only raced once...did you not get the whole thing? It should be about 23 seconds.

hmm tt seems to me, like he started in 2nd gear. Even with a bad launch, I doubt that it would fall behind by that much. It seemed like the 2nd gear start made the R shoot ahead, but once that 355 got the engine up in the rpms, it just flew by.
The reason I say that is because a friend of mine has a 355 and the same thing happens to him when he starts in 2nd gear against my friends semi-stock R.

And I wouldn't call that winning a lottery. Around here thats what I get to race. Ricers normally just leave me alone when they see the gauges on the A-pillar, but the exotics around here love to play around. I've even got a chance to race the same old style F40 twice in a half year!!!!! I would say the best car I raced was a Elise or a VVVT Lamo. The Elise lives next door to me with a R engine and the VVVT Lamo drove by me at a light when I was turning to other way, so of course I busted a U-turn to fly up and get next to him. Need I have to give more on the "race!" lol

yeah cuz that car can do a 0-60 in 4.5sec or so. With a bad launch your still talking high 4sec to very low 5sec. Then add in the 60-100mph time with that 0-60 which takes that car to 12.5sec!! It would have to be 2nd gear.

I thought he looked like he wasn't that interested in racing for a while... and then thought what the heck I'll show the R a thing or two. I'm sure most of us have done the same with slower cars than the R.

David.

As both Chris and Bob have allready said...Didn't you hear the guy in the ferrari revving? That certainly isn't the sound of the R!

Mike...I totally agree that the Ferrari should have won that race from start until finish. But I don't think he started in 2nd gear at all...why would he? The car will only do sub 5 sec. 0-60 MPH if you leave the line with a haze of smoke and the tires spinning. It looks to me like he babied the launch a little and took a nap at the light...that is enough to let the R lead for at least a little while

LOL!!! No kidding...like some people already said, it was all about seeing what the car could do. We never expected to win, so it was pretty neat when he FLEW past us!

Ok incase you guys didn't hear the blow off between shifts it sounded like a turbo and thats ******* horrible, if your gonna get a turbo GET MOTOR WORK DONE AND RUN the ****** boost or don't get it. He should have easily been able to whoop his *** at like 14 psi and it would have suprised the HELL out of that "FERRARI" that he got his 100,XXX dollar car WHOOPED by a 4cyl!!!!!
TURBO VTEC
Can't beat it
