I think 21 inches is suffice for working on your car, I use to own those walmark/kragen hydraulic jacks with a 14/15inch lift and that extra 5 inches made a huge difference. Sears sells a craftsman jack with a 21inch lift for about $50. Im happy with it

Well make sure it lifts your car high enough for the tires to come off the ground. I need to take my wheels off and my car is lowered. I used my friends jack and it just lifted the car up but didn't lift my wheels off by like 3 inchees. lol. Ohh yaa and if your car is lowered make sure that the front of the jack fits under your car. Sometiems those thick ones don't fit and you have to lift the car by hand to fit the jack under. And always use jackstands.
