thinking of getting an integra
hey guys im getting a car soon, I turned 16 in october and am thinking of getting a 300zx Twin Turbo, 3rd gen RX-7 Turbo, or an Integra. I am leaning towards the integra because it has 5 seats, unlike the 300zx and rx-7 which only have 2 (i wanna ride w/ my friends) anyways I am wondering the difference between the type-r and GSR integras. Also I would like to know how much money and HP would be required to make my integra run 13.5's in the quarter mile thanks!

Type Rs have different head design, higher compression pistons, stiffer chassis, more agressive cams. 5-lug hubs. Much lighter than the GSR. There is probably a lot more in differences but I am too lazy to type it all. Search around, this has been covered before. And if you have 5k you could drop a turbokit in there and be on your way. There is so much you can do. Search around everyone has their own opinion on what makes the best power.
i hope your not gettin insurance under your name unless your parents are rich, good luck though,
and your only 16 so please really now learn how to drive and dont be stupid, cars are not a toy and you could get really hurt or dead
not tryin to dis you man but it is very important to know how your car and don't exceed your limits. I have had some good friends die in accidents when they were younger bcuz someone thought they were cool and tryin to show off
But good luck if you get a teg i hope you like it as much as me
p.s. think about reliability integras are way more reliable than any other car u listed

Do yourself a favor and don't get the RX-7 or the 300ZX. Chances are you will:
1) Spend too much money trying to keep it running
2) Kill yourself with rear wheel drive and turbo lag.... yeah, mid corner boost is REALLY fun when the 2nd turbo spools on a modified 3rd gen RX-7. Can you say 100hp additional in the blink of an eye? It will surprise experienced drivers and kill young ones.
Also 3rd gen RX-7's need motor's and turbos about 70k miles... transmissions aren't great either. Plan on about $10,000 in parts and labor for every 100,000 miles you drive the car. (seriously)
Get yourself a GS-R or a Type R. Frankly you don't need to be the fastest guy on the street, as I've gotten a little older (23) I've learned that. In fact I like my Integra just as much as I like my RX-7. Yes the RX-7 has about 70hp more than my Integra, and yes my RX-7 corners better than my Integra... but for around town you really can't beat an Integra. Good throttle response at all speeds, great transmission gearing and feel, good gas mileage (important these days), it has pleanty of seating, comfortable seats, a bullet proof engine, and in all seriousness the girls really don't care that much about what car you're in. Just to give you an idea about the difference in gas mileage... here's my averages:
RX-7 - 165 miles since full, gas light on, will take 13.5 gallons to return to full... of Premium...
GS-R - 260 - 270 miles since full, gas light barely on, will take 10 gallons to return to full... still Premium
That adds up quick when you put 20k + miles on your car each year like I do.

i wouldn't say much lighter. percentage wise it is small. i think it is only like 70lbs. or something.

Please don't get into this...it's a waste of space. The main point of the thread is about which car of the above listed would be best for the guy.
Now for my input, I'd say get an Integra. Four seats would be much better than two, and being 16 (?) you'll want to be able to bring a few friends along for the ride. Integras are fun cars to drive and easy to maintain as well as upgrade. Go for an Integra

get a gsr and save your money for later. learn how to "drive" it .starting out with a 13sec car isnt the brightest idea. seen friends **** themselves up pretty bad
. even a thirteen sec, doesnt sound al that fast, is no joke. i had a 12sec civic hatch and that thing was nuts, cant even imagine that being my first car. i would be dead
