IIRC, the stock Si front bar is 19mm, and the HF bar is 18mm.

From Chris' page on RedShift Motorsports:
"...changing the front bar to a CRX HF bar (hollow and smaller)..."

I don't know if the HF bar is hollow, but obviously lighter than the Si front bar.

doctor cortez-if you come across one in your travels, let me know. cause for some reason im having the hardest time finding one.

milk-yea, its hollow. im not getting it for weight savings (cause i already dont have a front bar) but for traction. i drove a set-up sts si and it has less wheelspin than my car which has wwaayy less hp.

-spenc....hoping my traction issue wasnt because my st endlink broke

HF 17mm, Si 19mm, dunno what DX is. You can use a 90-93 LS front swaybar, 22mm, bolts right in.

i need the smallest bar i can find. dont need alot of roll stiffness up front. thats what the 12k spring is for. just need some more traction.

If you broke an endlink you prolly had them too short and they snapped due to angular bind , you want them as long as possible , FYI.

lemme look for a front bar also...

actually both SI and HF are the same diameter 17.78mm or 0.7", the HF is indeed hollowed out and considerably lighter.

didnt know the LS bar would fit, makes sense tho but never tohught of it. half price sale at the pick n pull this weekend...

so the si bar is solid and the hf is hollow? interesting.... Oh, and for those who didn't know, the DA front sway bars are also hollow.

nah, there pritty long. it didnt brake as much as the threads on the male end striped. the bar has been on the car for about 2 years with lots of events and not so nice roadways.

yep, just went to the junkyard today and got TWO DA swaybars and they are bent exactly like EF's. the diameter is about 23mm. i cant tell if its hollow, does seem a bit lighter than the 22mm suspension techniques bar i had before, however not sure since i dont have it anymore to compare. its definately bigger than stock Si tho (17.78mm). im gonna keep one around and the other one i'll sell if anyones interested. however i only have one set of bushings, so the one for sale doesnt come with bushings, which is all youll need to make it work on a EF chassis.

ps. energy suspension sells 23mm front sway bar bushings for $12 anyway.

They are definitely hollow. A solid piece of metal that thick would be pretty heavy, and the DA bar feels really light compared to its size.... especially when you compare it to a solid DA rear bar which is only about 14mm in dia.

Doctor Cortez: Are you sure there were two different sizes for different applications? If so, which applications had which size? I've yet to hear that there was a difference in front bars.... there is however a difference (albeit, not much) on the rear bars.

seriously, its .70", which is like 17.78mm and same as si, as i have measured both with a caliper. actually, the hf bushing part is listed as 17.3, but its definately not 16mm.

prolly seperated by trim level , the one I got is a 23mm also and its hollow for sure.

its weighs nothing I'm going to try it with new bushings on my car and see how it is with the ST rear bar on medium...

yeah, they are wrong, well just providing more options than necessary. 18 is the only one youll need, HF or Si.
