Default california db law

i have an cat back apexi n1 exaust on my car 2001 ITR do you think it will come under 95 db at the referee station? am i allowed to use the silancer, since the silancer was in when i recieved the citation? also are their any tricks to quieting down the exaust? ie use my stock cat back pipe and just the axel back section of my N1? i have also heard that putting a clump of steel wool in the exaust pipe will quite it down, but that doesnt sound very smart or safe to me. anyone who has gone through this i would love to talk to so i can know what to expect

You should be able to use the silencer when you go to test also if you can install the cat back pipe you should use that.

take a small piece of steelwool (The really heavy duty ones that look like metal shavings)and place it in your exhaust tip an then put the silencer in after it.

I had 2 friends that had to do that. But it was for a bug and a '68 lemanse.
