Default headlights don't chime if left on

hey i've left my headlights on after turning my car off about 5 times so far and one time was for a couple hours n my batt was dead.. i have a 94 civic ex ... and when the lights are left on there's no chime or beep to let me know i've done so ... i can't remember all the time to turn them off ... is there supposed to be a chime btu maybe a fuse is blown ? if not is it possible to install one? i've searched abotu 6-7 different variations of the words "headlight chime, light beep, light alert" etc. but i came up with nothing. any info or links would be much appreciated. thank you.

I feel your pain On the bright side, it lets you know when you leave your keys in the ignition.

My mom's 95 did not have a chime or buzzer. I think they didn't come with them until 96. I wired one up for her, but I'm having trouble remembering how now. I'll think on it a bit, and post back later...

i bought this ...
http://www.radioshack.com/prod...2D055

i tried connecting the black wire to different fuses like the wiper/washer ... front right (power window), and even the power door lock (all 20As) and i put the red wire on left / right high and low beams ... i still got no buzz ... the buzzer works because i grounded the black wire to some metal and then when the car was off id put the red wire on the headlight fuse n it would buzz ... i don't understand the logic behind fuses i've been reading up on them and electrical stuff ... seems like i need a relay that checks to see if headlight and ( something else that's on when the car's off ) if it is then it sends power to the buzzer ... is that what a relay does? is that what i need? im kinda desperate .. i had to push start my car down my driveway today because while trying to install the buzzer i left my lights on n went in to check the forums to see if i could find any help .. when i came out my batt was dead lol ... (i was inside my house for about 30-40 mins) any help would be MUCH appreciated! thanx o yea i also bought a voltage tester to see what fuses were on n off when the car was on n off ... it only cost about 6 bucks from radio shack so i didn't feel like it was a big purchase but something very handy .... please help guys thanx

Yep, hate the lack of the warning buzzer. I've only killed my battery once.

Think I'll do this tomorrow.

I got my buzzer from wal mart for less than a dollar and installed it to the light fuse and the rest was history.
