Why do aftermarket exhaust tip stick out so far from the bumper?
My guess is that exhaust systems are often used without a cat (in racing conditions or ?) and the manufactors know this, and therefore make the tip farther from the bumper to reduce deposits.

That makes sense, I've seen car with black powder on their bumper. Especially around the muffler.
i guees it depends on the exhaust. i think mine may be slightly in a little more that the stock one if not the same
