Default shifter sitting low...?

first of all, i already did a search. i always do. moving on...

my shifter has vertical play and i think it sits lower than it used to. this is causing it to occasionally rattle on my exhaust piping.

is the vertical play normal on a shifter? (i do have a DC short shifter btw, yea some of you think its crap i know but i don't remember this ever being a problem before. especially the rattling)

Should i get a new shift ball holder (don't know the name, u know, the white thingy that holds the ball of the shifter)? What do you guys think?

i have the same problem right now.

i have STR or SRT or whatever and it's adjustable so i can just raise it up a bit.

mine had minimal cleanrance but after i put TEin's i hit my head/pipe so it had no more clearance. so it started hitting..

i hate that sound. car sounds cheap .

i dont know about your case tho.. try pulling the pipe down a bit or if you have stock b-pipe take the heatshield off.. that will give you some room.

good luck

well i've checked my b-pipe and there's no way to make it hang any lower. I'm thinking if i change out my shifter ball holder it might hold the shifter higher...can anyone confirm this?
