i am currently having a problem with a code 14 idle air control valve malfunction.....the unit has just recently been replaced, and i cannot figure out what is wrong with it for the life of me......idle fluctuations anwhere from 1200-2000 rpms, and then begins to bog once it has reached an idle at a steady 1500 rpms.....what i mean by bogging is that it does not want to increase in idle once the rpms stick at 1500........PLEASE HELP!.....any input would be greatly appreciated....
check for vacuum leaks. My friends car is doing the same thing. Cleaned IACV, went away, than came back. Replaced IACV, went away then came back. Replaced ecu, didnt work. Checked wiring harness, entire length of IACV wires from sensor to ecu, still happens. We found a vacuum leak, fixed it and it still does it. Our last hope is that an intake/tb gasket is bad, or there is a very unobvious vacuum leak.
Check your Connections on the IACV harness.
Heres some more stuff you can do:
Reset your ecu by removing the negative battery cable for 5-10 minutes. Or pull the ecu fuse.
Also You can remove the 7.5amp fuse from the underhood fuse box for 10 seconds and this will clear any trouble codes from the ECM'S memory.
