Default 93 z6 vtec solenoid problem

well i finally got around to rewiring the vtec spool valve and pressure switches with some DIY work (perfect fit terminals, soldering, and heat shrink wrap) that had been causing me to throw CELs 21 and 22. now after clearing my ECU of the codes im still throwing 22 for the pressure switch.. which just happens to be the one place i was a little confused on. on my car it is a 2 wire plug with one black and one blue/black. in my haynes manual (only thing i had on hand), it shows the wiring diagram as having the blue/blk wire on the left terminal and the blk on the right (looking at the engine from dizzy side). i realize not asking here first couldve cost me some time but i really wanted to get this problem fixed... does it sound like my problem is involved in reversing these wires or should i look elsewhere?

also.. if the vtec has not been wired up in this car for some time, could i also be looking at replacing a frozen solenoid assembly?

thanks in advance

what model is the car and did you ever have vtec wired up to that car? If not how did you hook it up to the ECU.

There is a side of the connector that the clip is on that you have to push in to release the connector. That side is blue. The other is black.

Make sure the black is grounded.

when you say that are you referring to the male plug that is supposed to be there, b/c i sort of made my own since the only way i could get a replacement around here was to buy the whole wiring harness... so i have no frame of reference as to which terminal in the female connector goes to which wire.

thx tho ill take a look and see if it makes any more sense

The black wire gets grounded to the thermostat where all the other wires ground also. The blue/black wire runs to the plug at the shock tower harness. You can just solder a few feet of wire to the blu/blk one and heat shrink it instead of trying to track down the connector. See thread below.... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=846090

i know where it goes on the tower harness.. thats all still connected. my problem lies in which terminal on the pressure switch on the solenoid itself goes to which wire since i dont have the plug that goes there. ill give moto27cm's advice a try tomorrow when i have some light to work with but if anyone else can tell me right now whether the blu/blk wire goes on the LEFT terminal or not thatd help solve my problem on the spot.

thx for all the help and that thread is still very useful as far as checking things from the tower harness back to the ECU

The problem lies in that the switch screws into the head, hence its possible that the wires are on different sides on different cars.
