Default Need some opinions on compression ratio.

I'm gonna order my JE Pistons sometime this week and I was having a bit of a problem. I was just debating whether I should keep the stock gsr compression 10:1 or drop it down to 9.5:1 or 9:1. I mean whats the real advantage of dropping it down to 9:1 for people who boost on the street. My car is never going to see more than 12-14 PSI, and it wont even see more than 9PSI until I'm able to afford a standalone. Is it really worth it to drop it down to 9:1, or should I just keep it at 10:1? I live in california, so only 91 octane is available. well, i just wanted some opinions from the turbo gurus here. thanks

I think the 9.5:1 would be ideal for you. The b18c is supposed to have high compression, so I think you will have the best results with the higher compression. Lower, faster spoolup and more torque.

I think I am going to get 10.0:1 now. I have some 9.0:1 JEs, but if you have a standalone there is no reason to not go 10.0:1.

viren uses 10.0:1 @ 30psi on his racecar.

yeah 10:1 in a street car is the way to go. im running 10:1 but with a ITR head so that drops me around 9.8:1
