Default A weekend in Orlando with D and his friends.... (and FAST94GSR)

Wow.. where to start.. I guess friday night. (this is LONG btw) (VERY compressed cliff notes at bottom)

So I leave work friday night and drive to orlando, on the 408 expressway it starts raining. This wouldn't be bad save for the fuggin holes in my floorboard.. damn rain. Next I receive a call from D "Hey, we can't get the fuggen tranny off, any ideas?" me: "Get a bigger fuggin hammer... are all the bolts off?" D: "According to the Helms, yes." me: "Well I'm almost there, I'll kick it or something when I get there." (note: wasn't exact convo but close). I get lost on UCF campus (me == we todd), but finally find where D is hiding out in the back of some building by the "Boat Storage Center" which has like 12 kayaks/whatevers. So I get the grand tour, nice shop for a school. Some nice big v8's too. mmmmmmmmmmmm. So I look at the tranny, leg press it, hit it with a hammer, smoke cigs and drink beer. We accomplish nothing for awhile. Kenji calls me. I say "Hey, this tranny is stuck." He says "did you get the bolt going from the block to the tranny near the rear mount?" I crawl under the car.. "Yeah, that bolt is out." He asks "Starter?" I say "Only the top bolt..." He says "Take off the bottom you fuggin we todd". lol Tranny is off 5 minutes later (that's a 14mm bolt btw, not 15mm). Kenji is also asking about fussball (sp?) and claiming there are 3 guys on the last bar, I tell him he's we-todd-did cause there's only one. He goes to call someone with a FB table.

Ok, So we have the tranny off, after FAST94GSR applied a very generous ammount of prying with an assortment of big fuggen screwdrivers. We finally get the snap ring off and pry the tranny case from the clutch housing. Two ball bearing go shooting across the floor... oh yeah we were suppose to get those earlier.

We spend ~5 minutes playing with the tranny after we open it, admiring it's design, etc (and we're angry at the helms and therefore no longer reading it). So we take out the shift forks, main shaft, countershaft and diff assembly (which falls on my thumb, lol). Lou (one of D's friends) takes the diff assembly, puts it in the vise. We drink and smoke some more (skipped some smoke/beer breaks up there already). We go to take off the final drive. D is "loosening" the bolts.. finally one goes BANG.. damn.. those things are tight... then I look at the backside and am 100% confused as to why the "loosened" bolt is sticking out the back further than the tightened bolts.. at the same time Lou says "They must have used some of that red super loctite stuff". Of course, the bolts were reverse threaded and we were in reality torqueing them until they broke. doh!

So we take off the rest of them and remove the two bolt pieces (I will not go into the numerous super we-todd-did ideas on how to remove those two bolt pieces.. but let's just say that they go hand-in-hand with the "start the engine and see if the tranny will fall off" idea and the conversation on whether or not to remove the starter before talking to kenji.. oops I said "conversation" makes that "conversationS"). So now the final drive is mostly installed. We clean the Toda flywheel, FAST94GSR picks it up and I say "Uhhh.. Jeff, you just made the contact area really dirty again." We reclean the flywheel. The flywheel gets installed, D goes to view the pretty flywheel and FAST94GSR goes "Mmmm Toda" and touches the contact area again. So we clean the flywheel again. We give FAST94GSR the Clutch Alignment Tool (Also referred to as the transmission mainshaft) so he could line up the clutch, he does so, tightens the PP, etc and pulls the clutch alignment tool out. Bearings and gears drop off it. DOH! lol. So D, Lou and myself rebuild the mainshaft. We also transfer the gears over to the new countershaft, install the new syncros, new 1st gear, etc. Now we are done with all we can do (need two bolts) so we decide to go drink and smoke more. On the way out D sees the new pilot bearing that we forgot to tell FAST94GSR about. DOH! So we go drink some beer and smoke some cigs for a few hours, go to sleep at 4:30am. Wake up sat morning, call Acura dealerships, no one has the bolts of course so we go, uninstall the new clutch/PP/flywheel, install the new pilot bearing, reinstall flywheel/clutch/pp (and clean the parts again!) We then go to a junkyard, grab three PP bolts from a wrecked car, install them on the new toda PP, torque it all down and go waste time. Oh yeah, I also got a shiftknob for my conquest at the junkyard. The **** and 3 bolts were 5 bucks. The **** is from a nissan maxima. it kicks ***! We post ***** on honda-tech.com for a bit, get some food, whatever. Eventually it gets darker and we go visit FAST94GSR to hear his clutch. Wow, it's FUCKED we all exclaim. He gets it fixed the next day. We go back to D's drink beer. Smoke cigs (theme for the weekend). Some people show up, roommates, D's friends, etc. Then.. by the luck of.. well I dunno.. his 18 year old neighbor Nicole steps out in this skin tight red dress.. the balcony becomes loud with "GOD DAMN YOU'RE HOT TONIGHT" and "**** YOUR FINE!"'s. Yes, we were drinking still. And smoking. She goes to meet her father (dirty old man!) at the Rainforest cafe. We stay awake to wait for the sight again. Oh ****, forgot to tell everyone about D's roommate Alberto. I've been hearing stories about this freak all night friday and during the day saturday. I finally see him and run out to block his path. I say " Hi alberto." he says "MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm Hey". I laugh. I say "Bye alberto" he says "MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm" and walks out the door. I laugh for a good two minutes. Oh yeah, that wasn't in order, the alberto thing happened before we all got wood by looking at Nicole. There's a party going on somewhere that we were going to go to, but we were too buzzed to leave with the others and found out it was just a big pole party anyways. No womenz So we continued to drink beer and smoke.

Alberto gets back home. I say "Hey Alberto" he says "MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm hey". I say "What were you doing tonight?" He says "MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm went to watch the MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm world series game. MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm new york MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm disappointed me. MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm they should have MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm won." plus some more MMmmmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmubling.

We drink and smoke more.

Nicole gets back home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We all exclaim that she is still way fuggin hot. This guy randy (dirty old man) gets her to spin around for us. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm (I sound like Alberto now). She eventually leaves us again

We drink and smoke more.

We see a roach on the wall. It somehow pisses us off. We try to kill it by throwing bottle caps, cig packs, etc at it. We miss with everything. I through some cake/pie at it and miss. We laugh at that one though. Eventually I take a bottle of bud light and smask the bug. We laugh at it's demise. We drink and smoke some more. We dare D to climb the cement post from the 1st floor to the second. He does so, we laugh more and he cuts himself up. D gets another beer for that trick. We finish off the 20 pack of BL and 6 pack of MGD in about 2 to 2.5 hours. D and myself can't decide whos more sober so we come to the genius decision that I'll drive to the store and he'll drive back. We now have 12 more beers. D spends 10 minutes bitching about my car's lack of power steering, I spend 5 minutes calling him a *****.

I start putting butane into bottles and lighting it for entertainment. We all decide that it's time to stop drinking and we are out of cigs.

Sunday afternoon.. waste time then drive back to tampa and go to Nate's to drink more beer.

BTW, Taco Bell has discontinued the Chili-Cheese Burrito. What a bunch of fuggen jackknobs!

I probably left some out, but oh well.

Cliff Notes: We are we-todd's. Nicole is mega fuggen hot in that red dress. FAST94GSR likes to dirty flywheels.

Dave,

BTW, the back row (goalie row) on a foosball table has three men if the table is flat and one man if the table has raised corners. We called my buddy with a foosball table and he told us that valuable info.

I asked you that because...well, you were on the phone at the time and my friends bet me $10 bucks on the number of men on the back row of a foosball table when I was setting up my foosball table to play that night.

It sounds like you guys had fun...ya bunch of we todds. Hahahha

There is a autocross coming up in Gville soon (I think it's Gville). Jarin sent me an email. You guys are going, right?

Kenji: So I was right then with the one guy on the back row.. just for a certain type of table.

THe GVille event is the State champs, I don't know if any of us did enough events to run in it, emailed them but the fuggen dicks don't reply to my emails.

Hopefully we can go, gville track

What he didn't tell you is that there will be an "Official" we-todd-racing .... South East H-T meet!

The Daytona 24hrs sounds like a good time for lots of beer and cigs.
Usually the first full weekend in February.
Just hope it doesn't rain again this year!

Pat, who hopes to see "We-Todd Racing" stickers and t-shirts one day

Pat, who also felt sofa-king we-todd-did when he broke a tranny pan bolt on Da Gun (over-torque strikes again)

Wow sounds like you guys had a blast... Jason (Typer98) and I have to do a final drive and flywheel swap on our R's soon also. Anybody interested in coming down to Ft. Lauderdale for the weekend? My roommate works for Budweiser, so I've got plenty of beer

I love touching flywheels.

Got my new Exedy clutch! I like it! very light and close to stock pedal feel.

The hellacious sound my car was making was a spring that fell out of the clutch disc and was rolling around there like a marble in a dryer.. What sucks is even after 2.5-3 years of somewhat abusive and regular driving the clutch still had plenty of wear on it. I had a CM stage 3. Oh well **** happens I guess.

Can't wait till the new engine AND clutch are broken in so I can have some fun!

Dave did you have a video tape recorder or do you have a photographic memory.? You recalled all the events exactly how they happened. LOL

God I can't tell ya'll what its like to be driving the teg again. Seems like the motor is loosening up now, untuned it makes way noticeably more torque than my old setup.

I recommend going 12:1 compression to anybody!

IF anybody's interested there is an import race here in Orlando November 11. I won't be able to make it cause my motor is still breaking in but I'll def be watching.
