2003 Expo... Start Planning now if we want it at VIR
I was just wondering if we should get a date for the 2003 Expo on the East Coast. A lot of guys wanted VIR for this year, but it was already booked up. So, what do you guys think about establishing a date and track for the 2003 Expo at this time?

The expo at VIR would be sweet! I know it's going to be quite expensive though, so we'd have to round up a great turnout for that one
Great idea

Great idea
VIR is a much nicer facility than any of the courses you mentioned above...with a more park like atmostphere, laid back personel and plenty of room for everything and anything i agree that this is the only true home of ITR expo which is just waiting to be discovered.
This one must be near(er) to the west coast...alternate the locations every year....
I think that would be fair. Although a central one every so often would be sweet too!

We will then have another event on the west cost in 2004, and then the mid-region in 2005, and it will continue in that fashion. It makes the most sense, and is only fair for those who don't want to or can't travel long distances to attend.

Thanks Wes - for taking on a big project.
BudMan ..... I can't wait!
Just a few extra thoughts! Why not do one in Canada too? Secondly, for another location idea. I know from a quality source that Honda USA in Ohio has a 7 mile test track on their grounds. I believe this is an oval with infield course. We could think of it as a home-coming of sorts!
I wonder if Honda would let us have it at HPCC, their proving grounds in the Mojave desert. Parts of it was shown in the Sept BM vdo.

Very nice place ... spacious, with lots of parking lots and newly built log cabin style buildings (like a horse paddock).
It would be nice to announce next year's location at this year's event.

VIR is definitely world class. Their flaggers are trained well (I am one of them), the track has excellent run off room in most places, it is smooth and fast, the grounds are in spectacular shape, the paddock is large, need I say more? While this is supposed to be an ITR expo would you be open to having all of the other hondas in there? I'm not sure what kind of attendance you got at previous ITR expos but I'm thinking that since there are only around 3500 ITR's in the country that it may be difficult to fill up the event. How many participants have there been at previous expos?
Not to mention the fact that there are many Honda performance enthusiasts of all types who'd love to have a chance to see/experience the Honda racing spirit at the track with their Type-R brethren. Perhaps for VIR you could convince the HART team, Planet Earth Motorsports, King Motorsports, Realtime Racing, and some of the other Honda racing teams to come participate. Who knows maybe you could have one of the CART Hondas out to do a few hot laps for you (although CART may be dead by that time).

I live about 5 minutes away from VIR. It is a very nice track and I would like to see all the ITR's hanging out there even though I dont have one.
I think that it would be a nice event and JMU R1 has some good ideas about the race teams coming out.

That track looked sweet. Not sure if I'll want to launch the R 3 feet into the air though!
I'm down for that
Thanks,
