OT: What are you getting for Christmas??
Sorry, I had to post something OT. Well...it could be ON TOPIC if you're getting something for your R.
I'm trying to get a decent home theater system for Christmas (and my Birthday which IS on Christmas Day).
What do you guys suggest?

Bose Lifestyle...the 3,000 + system. I went to the bose outlet store in woodbury commons, ny....man those tiny speakers were f-ing awesome!
I don't think I'll be getting a $3k system anytime soon as far as gifts go.
haha.
I would be willing to piece my system together. I just need more suggestions. I'm going for sound quality with a little punch.

Yea, Bose isn't worth the money. I had a job as a stereo repair technician, take it from me
.
Just get a nice Pioneer or high end Denon reciever and some nice speakers.

no one is posting anything for the ITR.
Oh well, they say you respect it more when you buy it your self right....?
Get a decent receiver (Technics makes a good one, SA-DX940, for ~$300), and then get a set of B&W bookshelf speakers. They may be hard to find, but they are worth it. Excellent sound, good volume, and cheap for what you get. They are also made in England, so you know you're getting a good product.

The best ones are the Nautilus series, Of course theres the Model thats no longer made shaped like a sea shell Mucho Dinero about $35000 each but Sounds Unfreakingbelievable. If your looking towards Home stereo, go with a Cambridge soundworks system great for the price, Reciever I would say one of the mid or top model Onkyo's
Myself im getting a 60" HDTV Widescreen
And New DSS Reciever with HDTV and Tivo
for a relatively affordable home theater speaker system I would recommend the Polk Audio RM7500 setup. http://www.polkaudio.com/home/produc...y=2&speaker=32
I have this set. Only paid $1100 for it new and it will definitely play loud and clear with a good receiver. The only other setup I heard that would be better was a B+W hometheater setup named "Prism series". It was about $1300.00. B+W are awesome speakers, even their affordable stuff.
