what is the widest slick that will fit a honda wheel?
i've got 2 different set of 14" honda wheels, steelie and del sol. i was wondering what is the widest slick that would fit on these rims. i have the opportunity to get some 14x10 slicks, would these fit? lemme know, thanks in advance.

A 10 inch will not fit. 8 is the limit but even that is larger than you want to use on a steelie. I'm not even sure the 10 inch would fit in the fender if you did have the correct rim without some backspacing.

10" wide slick and 14" rim diameter? Who makes this slick? What is the diameter of the slick? It might end up looking like this 24.5x8 on a 13x5 steelie.

From the looks of it, it didn't. Sure they are "on" there but you would be hard pressed to see me run over 100mph with a 8 inch tire on a 5 inch rim. That is if you can get them to not rub the knuckle which they would on the stock offset.
It's just sad to see someone who has the money to put into the car to make the amount of power to handle that size slick and not to be able to afford real drag wheels.
ok.. it shouldnt be the issue of IF YOU CAN fit it? its more of, is the slick designed to fit the rim.
Lets say that that slick above is 14x10" but it calls for a 8 inch wide rim. and you are using a 5.5" wide rim. the slick is distorted when you put air in it.
You wont be able to utilize the CONTACT patch that its designed for.
The reason there is a RIM WIDTH requirement on these slicks, is that when the slick is pumped up. it will be shaped to what its designed for. lets say a 13x9 slick will be on a 8" wide rim. The slick will sit properly and wont bluge to the side or cave in at the middle.
The main lesson i guess here is. Use the proper rim and slick combination. Don't try to Half *** the setup. its dangerous and is not efficient.

**** if you have enough money to push 24.5x8.7 slicks i dont see why you dont have enough money to get some decent drag wheels i think a slick that big with the offset steelies have would rub the wheel wells.. prolyl ahve to use spacers anyway
