Default hard rain= big big problem

this is on a 02 type s, mods are mugen airbox and comptech catback

aight, whenever it rains really really hard like today, it seems like the engine is cutting out and the whole car shakes really bad, no more accelleration or anything...it feels like you are droiving down a really bumpy rocky road....when i had my cold air i thought i was hydrolocking, but when i got mugen airbox i thought it would solve it, but it didn't. what's wrong? Thanks

if it was hydrolocking your motor would be hurtin not only when it rains. make sure it's not the trans. my old b-series was lacking a clutch cover for a while and when it rained the clutch would start to shake and lose grip

Check all electrical connections under the hood such as your coil packs. Have the engine running and pour some water over any electrical connection that rain can get onto also and see if your motor starts studdering.

Damn bro I have never heard of this problem happening before. But then again I live in Arizona and it never rains here.

You are still under warranty. Take it back to the dealer. If those are all the mods that you have, then you will be fine.

hahaha no. you can't hydrolock your stock intake unless your drive it into a lake. You putting on a CAI and sucking up water is not their problem. hehe they'll laugh in your face and charge you 10 G's for a new engine....that's w/o labor.

You have an 02 vehicle! Take it to the dealership and have them fix it, you have a warranty.. Tell them you have no idea what happened, play dumb.
