Default Is it ok to start cranking?

I'm going to be working on my timing belt change after work today. Its a 45 minute drive from work back to my house and I'm planning to start taking off the crank pulley bolt soon after I arrive. The engine should be nice and hot by then.

Q: Is it ok to start loosening the crank pulley bolt while everything is still hot?
Or should I wait a bit for it to cool down a little?

I don't want to risk sheering off the bolt head if it needs to be cooled down a little.
