Default My progress and then some frustrations.....

Well first, me and some buddies got mostly everything on the car. It started from just having the block. The head, tranny, Skunk2 IM, Manifold, Turbo, Downpipe, all the piping fits, the Spearco FMIC is mounted...is all done so far.

Now the frustration. Well I searched for a ton of time on this turbo setup and got a ton of advice. I thought I had pretty much everything figured out. Well I didn't, I had no idea about a dump tube on my wastegate, didn't even know I needed one, so I've got to find a way to do that, then weld it all to the piping im sure. Then, I've got to weld the Tial BOV to the piping aswell and get another flange I believe, because the flange on the revhard piping is for a greddy type-s blowoff valve. Then, i've gotta hit up the exhaust shop to match my flex pipe to the cat/downpipe......Im on my way to weld oil fittement to the oil pan so thats covered as of this morning. I have an Inline Pro Manifold and Rev Hard piping just to let everyone know, probably helps with your suggestions.

well just venting out my frustration. I thought this car would be done a while ago, its taking forever and its my only car. I know its worth the wait, i've been patient every step of the way, just yesterday was really frustrating finding out all that **** I didn't know I had to do.

any suggestions about the dump tube or blow off valve?

thanks in advance and thanks for reading...

<-----dissapointed and getting frustrated

what kind of manifold are you using.....www.importparts.com has the drag dump tube for sale. It may or may not work depending on your manifold. As far as the BOV, you need to get an aluminum flange, and take that to get welded on to your charge pipe. Or you can buy a Greddy Type-S and sell the Tial, but it's probably worth the extra effort!!!

Well a dumptube isnt a necessity, but It sure does keep the engine bay cleaner, and keeps the heat from blowing on the A/c line. Most people these days run one, I would say a local shop should be able to fab up on pretty quick but I dont think you have any local shops where you live.

As far as the Bov, well it's simple you can either get a Tial flange, and have it welded, or you can sell the Tial and guy a Type R/Type S.

Don't get discouraged, check the classifieds im sure somone has a Dumptube for sale, considering your running a popular mani IP/Revhard

Pretty sure atpturbo.com sells the TiAL blow off vavle flange you need. For a simple and easy dump, weld a short piece of pipe to the flange, then get steel flex hose and run the dump to wherever you want.

Oil Lines
Quality Clamps
Quality Connectors
Quality Vac/Boost Hose
Enough Mandrel Piping
Engine Management
Dump [already mentioned]

Just to name a few...I've seen people think they were about to boost and were missing one or more of these things.

Can an exhaust shop make a flange for the BOV?

my dumptube is pretty simple for my tial 38 - ordered flange off ebay for 10$, 1"-1.5" reducer and 1.5" flexpipe from autozone ~$5.... works great and its basically universal because u can move the flexpipe however u want.
