Default How big mileage has your clutch survived? Problem, please help.

Mine (exedy oem clutch + pressure plate, not race, just the most ordinary basic model for 2.2 vtec engine) has about 50000 km (31000 miles) and when I start from 1st or reverse speed, with pedal not fully released, there is a strange noise, but not all times. It is a sound like you would had completely worn brake pads, just metal on metal.

What is it??? I don't feel the clutch would slip.

Last news: today morning when I was trying to park my car between two others cars, within a very very closed range, I felt a specific odour - like odour of burning isolation on electrical wires or something like that.

If it is end of this clutch what would you recommend? Exedy oem worn after 50000 km don't seem to be very good... Or is it normal with 2.2 vtec engine?

I know this sound. I have an ACT set up with a JUN flywheel. When you feel it beginning to slip, you should put your shifter in neutral and take the clutch all the way out, and try again. This avoids making the noise most of the time. Mine has done it since i put it in brand new. I dont think your clutch should be wearing out already. Do you beat on it all the time?
