Engine knocks.. BAD!
Hi. I have a 2001 dodge 2500 with a cummings diesel. Ever since I've had it is knocks really bad. Does anyone know why? What can I do to stop it?
I forgot to mention Ive been boosting 18psi on stock motor. I posted this here because its turbo and alot of people here know a lot about turbo stuff.
TIA

lol, someone must be really bored. BTW I don't think a diesel is supposed to make that knocking noise, its supposed to be as quiet as a gasoline engine.

you might not think this will help but it helped my uncle billy. he was low on blinker fluid and accadently poured the fluid for the blinkers in where the spark plugs go on a deisel. dont ask me why he did that, but that made it knowck real loud, and also ever since he had it he has to turn on the key and wait a few seconds before he cranks it, huh must be a lemon.

My friend who is into diesels said it may need a valve adjustment, he said to check
out http://www.tdr1.com for diesel info. Hope that helps.
