Default jdm rsx-r header.

is the jdm rsx R header any better then the stock usdm type s or ep3 one. would it make a noticable gain over the stock one.

itr header is 4to2 and stock usdm rsx header is 4to1. ITR header flows better than our stock header. however to make this work you must have the JDM ITR downpipe as well ( i think you have to have another o2 sensor on the JDM DP if you use stock ECU)

There's only two O2 sensor bungs on the JDM downpipe.

The only problem I know of with installing the JDM ITR header is the downpipe will hit the USDM sway bar...you need to use either a JDM ITR front sway (which requires the use of JDM/Mugen control arms), Toda or Whiteline.

Two on the cat. The JDM downpipe doesn't have a cat, well at least the J's racing one doesn't. I saw a pic of it on eBay when it was for sale along with the header.

I wouldn't have a clue, but to tell you the truth, I haven't seen many. At JHPUSA.com, the J's Racing one sells for $675, the Spoon one for $580, and the Vision one for $490.

i'm looking at a pic of the ITR DP right now and it looks like ITR does have a CAT and there's 2 o2 sensor on it.

THere is definitely a cat on the downpipe. Trust me I know!

The stock upper is a little rough around the edges, the welds are not great, plenty of flow blockage at the flange. I think taking a Dremel to that area will definitely increase the flow characteristics and then just pick up a downpipe. Also there are 2 O2 sensor bungs just like the Type S. That really shouldn't even be a question, think about the Toda manifold, it was designed for the K20A ITR. So why would it come with 2 bungs, actually 3 if the R didn't have 2 O2 sensors?

The Spoon one I am almost certain is made by Technica Sports (Vision).

I have to keep mine, because I have to go through inspection every couple years and the Toda will not pass visual inspection, or else I would be selling it. The only other complaint on the stock piece---HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY even though it is stainless.

sorry to bring back this thread, but how does the fitment with the DC5R header fit with the USDM engine? I heard there is some fitment issues or something? Is this right?

It doesn't clear the US sway bar. I just got a complete changeover. I'm going to be putting it on pretty soon.
