Default New head gasket?

Well me and vtc_civic changed the head on my ls motor and after the change i noticed the car would smoke alittle bit when you tap on the throttle when your in neutral im not positive what color smoke it is, but it smoked. after further investigation i noticed that some oil was seeping out where the block meets the head. The head has only been on the car for 50 miles or less so maybe it hasn't seated properly or something but have any of you ever encountered some oil leakage after changing the head? Yes i used a new head gasket so that shouldn't be the problem. and i doubt its a blown head gasket cause the motor hasn't seen boost yet. also, yes i did deck the head to make sure it wasn't warped and yes we put the head gasket on the right way (i saw where it said "up" on the gasket. any help is appreciated.
