The new front and stuff is total speculation. Tell him to get one in the next few months so he can get a good deal on the 2004's they're trying to get rid of.

i read somewhere that the 05 is going to have a face lift ( total speculation) new front suppose to look like the s2000 and new accords and a rear with bigger taillights....if this is true and is suppose to have paddle shifts. if it's true i'll be getting an 05 or converting my front end to the 05

paddle shifts won't go to the RSX first lol... if Honda were to bring paddle shift technology in ... it would go on the NSX or S2000 first.

It's an advanced technology used in the automotive world today used on higher end performance cars in order to achieve the quickest possible and most precise shifts.

They are installed behind your steering wheel and with the snap of a wrist, your car shifts into the next gear.

ive driven some high end cars with the paddle shift(im a valet) and it just wasn't as responsive as the real control of a shifter. maybe you would have to get used to it. in a lot of magazines when they test drive cars with the paddles, they don't really like um either. if lamborgini, ferrari and porsche(thats why the new carrera gt still has a clutch and shifter and formula 1 still doesn't even use it) can't get it to it's best honda is not gona mass produce um. if they do i doubt that itll be really good.

Actually F1 still uses paddle type shifters. Just not all the teams. Its almost entirely up to the driver. Honestly the systems are not that different. as they only really use the clutch for starting. WRC also still has some paddle shifted cars. But, as you mentioned its really a choice thing.

As for the 04 or 05 RSX question:
The RSX WILL get a revamp soon. New front end, new rear and perhaps some other minor changes. Check the mags. I saw a pic in one of the majors recently. Can't remember which one.

Generally though, you're going to get a better deal on an 04 than an 05 if it changes in the fall.

i've seen the new '05 front end in Motor Trend (or wherever it was), but it was obviously speculation and a concept. But from what I saw, it was as ugly as sin.

Paddle shifts on a 200hp car with all-season tires on it? What the heck is the point to that? Would be nothing more than a gimmick IMO.

Sounds like something they would have tried on the old Prelude or something. Paddle shifters and 4-wheel steering with ATTS...woohoo! All completely worthless.

Hondas and Acuras have known to change style in every 4 years. the Integra lasted 8. so I would say it isn't goin to change till at least 2006, since the RSX is an 02 model.

i'd just wait a few months just to see what happens. if the new 05 rsx isn't what he wants or even if it doesn't change he'll get good prices on the 04
