Hey guys, I was driving my 95 VX the other night and the slave cylinder went out... I just got it fixed by a mechanic and got it back, I drove it down the road... in first gear it pulled like it should (cant say pulled hard, because its an vx and they dont pull hard in the first place) when i shifted into second it slipped after like 2K RPM... and slipped in every gear after 2nd. Anyone know if there is something the mechanic couldve done to **** it up? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!! TIA!

 

It has never slipped a single time before the mechanic touched it

 

how much clutch pedal play do you have?

 

if the clutch freeplay is adjusted correctly then your clutch is gone

hardly any... it releases really close to the floor... could someone please give me some detailed instructions on how to adjust the clutch pedal properly

 

with the pedal out, put your hand on the clutch pedal, move it down until it starts to get heavy. should have at least 1-2 inches of play. im not talking about when the pedal is on ground. it if releases really close to the ground, meaning the clutch opens, then that means your clutch is possiblity no good.

how many miles on that clutch?

 

i dont know, i just got the car about a week ago... but it was releasing normaly before, i had someone check it out when i bought it, everything was good, good strong clutch, before the slave cylinder went out it was still releasing good and everything... the car gets towed to a mechanic, he "fixes" it and now MAJOR slippage

 

can a clutch go bad that quick with no warning?

yes it can

 

you may just try bleading the clutch line first.

Bleeding the clutch has nothing to do with it slipping after a certain RPM.

 

Yes a clutch can go out like whoa, hahaha. O.k. I help out my friend at his shop right and this brand spanking new black evo comes in for a new clutch in. You know how many freaking miles he had on it.................not even 2k on it hahahahaha. But then again after the install I saw how he drove it I knew why how it was.

 

any details on how to adjust the clutch pedal, because something just doesnt feel right

 

anyone? also, when shifting form 1st gear, which it holds in, you can hear a faint "pssh" like a pretty quiet bov
