b20 is cheaper than a b16, has more usable torque (street driving), but will also be a bit slower than a b16 due to a lack of horsepower.

fer the price of a b16, you can get a d16Z6 or Y8 and turbo it (do your own kit of course) and still have the vtec. and walk away with some cash in yer pocket to boot. and eat the b16 kids fer breakfast. i bought a 99ex motor for 400 bucks, put the z6 head on it for a odb1 conversion sold the OBD2 head fer 200 and droped it in my 93 dx hatch (not turbod), granted i did a **** load of work to it but it halls ***. im glad i dint "waste" my money on a b16. im not knockn the b motors at all id love one. but if yer thin on the money situation there is tons of ways to get awsome power and not spend almost 4gs
99 ex block w/ 52k
95 si head mild port and polished
95 si trans
ACT stage 2 clutch
STR fuel rail and cam gear +4º
chipped p28 ECU vtec hits at 4.2k and AFR
DSM injectors
short ram with nirtrous port (after clutch break in period ZEX goes in then -2º time)
GSR over sized CAT, dc421 + 2.25 all the way back to non rice muffler
i dont rember the rest off hand, dosent seem like alot but you gota be peeld off the seat. explore your options. and take yer time i got all my stuff for under 2 grand, just gotta find the deals.
