Should i Install Clutch/Flywheel now???
I have a fidanza flywheel and stage 3 eclutchmaster right now, but dont know if i should put it in. My car clutch only had 60k miles on it so far and is still very strong. but i talk to a mechanic at pep boys and he said he could do it for me with warranty and everything for 250. i think that a pretty damn good price considering all the work dropping the tranmission. should i take the deal? Im saving for turbo and currently having 500 in my bank, i want to save it but also want to install the clutch
. *wish I was rich*

why change the clutch and flywheel just because someone's willing to do it for cheap.... to be honest, its only about $50 cheaper than average.
save up your dough and use what you got. a stage 3 clutch will be straining\killing your tranny anyways.

I concur. If you don't have any heavy modifications, that clutch will be too much for the transmission in stock form.
What made you buy the clutch anyways then? That clutch kit and flywheel had to run in upwards of $600, if not more. And that could've been used towards a turbo kit.
At any rate, save save save, if you want a turbo, cover all grounds and get everything that you need. Good luck with it.

stage 3 clutch? fidanza flywheel?! this better be a track or auto-x car cuz it'll SUCK on a daily basis...and you obviously don't kno enough if you can't change the clutch yourself...trade that clutch in!

Not sure what comprises a "Stage 3" clutch... But if it has significantly higher clampload and/or a cera-metallic facing, it will make driving the car much less pleasant. I recommend against such an "upgrade," particularly since your engine's torque does not require it.
I have a 7.5lb Fidanza flywheel installed in my car with a near-stock clutch, and it is very easy to drive. So the F/W by itself is not the main issue.

I think it's the other way around. You obviously don't know what you're talking about.
There's nothing wrong with a stage 3 CM clutch. It's still a full face disc. It's very streetable, as long as you're willing to accept a higher clamping load. That's about all that will change that. And the flywheel, it's lighter, that's it. It'll take some getting used to the RPMs moving faster than they normall did.
And not knowing how to install a clutch has NOTHING to do with whether or not he should use it.

just install it. but be prepaired to do some calf raises on the right leg. theres nothing worse than a buff left leg and a peg right one.
and one more thing that flywheel might be a little to light if your considering boost, you might want to look at somthing that can hold in boost just a tad longer

I already know that the clutch pressure is going to increase alot, and i dont think the flywheel will be a problem. Im buying stuff according to what i plan. and that is turbo and it not that far away i hope. i pay 220 shipped for the clutch and 210 shipped for the flywheel, i dont think that is bad at all. well i went out and talk to the mechanic and will be doing it next week. Heheh hope it wont be that hard to drive around lol...Im not all about comfort...
