how tight should cam gear screws be?

Default how tight should cam gear screws be?

obviously i don't want my cam gears slipping, but i dont want to strip the screws either. any reccomendation on what torque setting to use? i'm using HKS adjustable cam gears

Ask HKS. They are the only ones that will know what torque setting the gears and bolts were designed for.

Stock is 41 ft/lbs but I agree with RJ on contacting HKS for the proper tq specs.

i belive he means the adjustment bolts
if he does 41 ft/lbs
he WILL strip it

i believe that AEM recommends 14-17- ft/lbs of torque... but then again, thats with AEM. i guess you could use that as reference

my hks cam gears are old, they're first gen. don't think i can get any info from HKS about them

I dont know anything about either cam gear.

But its possible that they are different designs and you could be under or over-torquing the bolts. And you could gernede the motor.
