My friend has a 2001 Type R. He bought a JDM header and a JDM ITR cat

Problem: There is no hole for the secondary O2 in the cat.

Question: Does it matter where the hole is drilled in the cat for the new O2 bung? Will different drilling locations give different O2 readings?

Any help will be great.

Thanks

The proper location is behind the cat.... you cant just drill a hole, you have to weld a sensor bung.

What exhaust is he running? The JDM ITR cat won't bolt up to the stock exhaust...it's shorter than USDM cat by a fair amount...

and yeah...what RJ said...

i have a jdm cat for the jdm header. u would have to extend the piping on the cat to fit the usdm exhaust. they make a secondary o2 sensor bung for me and it works fine..

Actually, you have to do BOTH!

Just make sure the second O2 is after the catalyst.

No I read it correctly.

You can just drill a hole if you want..... but you'll have an exhaust leak and your o2 sensor wont stay in.

holy crap.

you have to drill a hole, but you need to weld a bung to KEEP THE SENSOR in the cat and not have an exhaust leak.
