Default Removing OEM GSR spoiler

I have an 00 GSR and I wanted to take off the OEM spoiler but my friend said that when he took his off it messed up the hydrolics in his trunk so his trunk is messed up now. Is this true?

Thats just silly. Make sure you aren't stoned like he was when you try pulling yours off. Everything should be OK then.

buy plugs from home depot to cover the holes, then paint them with paint from kragen to match your car. That is until you save up enough money to get your hatch professionally painted and shaved.

not a stupid question and thanks for having some foresight before modding... we dont get much of that here. As you will come to learn, many of the Teg owners arent as responsible as we ought to be.

Check the wingless thread in the appearance forum. You'll notice that most dont have a 3rd brake light.

Find one off a wrecker from an integra that didnt have a spoiler to begin with, and hook it up. I remeber there was a thread about this a few months back.

Is it mandatory to have a third brakelight? Wouldn't want to get pulled over or anything.

Third brake light is mandatory by law. It also makes your car safer for people driving in back of you. You don't want your Integra getting rear -ended by a Hemi Truck?

don't forget to grab the glass too that already has the predrilled holes for the brake light!

In the states, its mandatory. whether its enforced or not is a different story.

i suppose if you park somewhere and a police officer is short on making their quota for the month, they will write it all down on a ticket... more of a hassle really ....

Ok I have a problem, and would like to ask you guys for help. I got the spoiler off, but not completely since the wires are still connected. I found the connector but its inside the hole of the trunk and I can't seem to pull the wire any further out.

Do you guys know how I can disconnect it? The reason I'm taking off the spoiler is I am painting the car.

Thank you
Here is a pic

Remove the trim inside of the hatch to access the wire harness.

The ITR wing will not cover the holes.

I installed a red LED lightbar at the top of the hatch inside of the glass. It is only noticeable when illuminated.

DOGG...would you mind posting a pic of your new brake light and where you got it? I am looking to remove my spoiler and would like to remain safe. Thank you.

And it's nice to see someone search

My hatch pops open faster without the weight of the wing, but it didn't mess anything up. Took me some coaxing to get the left side of the spoiler to come out!

just cut the wires. i tried getting the harness off for like 10 minutes and said f it and got wire cutters and electrical taped the badboys.

then i sold my integra and put the wing back on and just soldered the wires back together. actually.. i dont even think i soldered them.

wingless ftw!
