Default Oxygen sensor question

How do you know if the 02 sensor is working ok?
I disconnected mine when I put in my new exhaust last night and ran the car without one.
I didn't get a Check Engine Light like I though I would.
Does that mean anything? Aren't you supposed to? Could it be because I am running a Hondata unit (I thought the CELs are supposed to work the same with Hondata and that only the fuel/ignition maps are different).

if the O2 sensor is not working properly then you would prolly notice...i.e. rough idle, sluggish throttle response...i would assume that OBD1 would still throw a cel for a malfunctioning O2 sensor.

i don't have an o2 sensor bunged on my downpipe because of the sloppy work from a wack *** shop and it idles really rough and bogs like crazy. and the check engine light does come on as well but that is with a factory ecu.

sorry to be off topic but, how do you like your hondata 3b? is it worth the extra $145 compared to the 2b? do the extra features work well like the full throttle shifting capability and especially the two stage rev limiter for launch control? i ordered a 2b and might reconsider and go with the 3b. thanks in adv

i only got the 3b because with the group buy i got $100 in Dyno time so it was only another $50 for the 3 vs 2. I have not hooked in the other features. I have to mount in a bracket for the clutch switch to to make it work. I will get around to that one day but certainly after dyno tuning and chip burning this weekend!

you disconneted O2 from harness or from Cat only? if only from cat your computer will show a CEL on the second driving cycle - OBDII, plus when you just start the car it sdoes not use the O2 untill car is warm - closed/open loop operation.
