car is eating up gas!!!
my ride is eating up gas!! ;[ i'm even using 91 octane... i've noticed that my gas lasts a lil longer... but **** ya know... i can't afford 20 a week for something that'll only last 3 days... n-e help posted is appreciated. thnk yu members
could be the way you're driving or something's causing the car to run rich. I know on my last tank I only got 16mpg because of the way I drove that week.
How many mpg's are you getting. Low mileage can be attributed to a lot of different factors. As stated, driving style could affect mpg. You should check the following:
1) Check spark plugs and see if you're running rich.
2) When was the last time you had a tune up?
3) Check your air filter
4) Check your tire pressure
5) Check your O2 sensor. Just because there isn't a CEL, doesn't mean that the sensor isn't going. O2 sensors slowly wear out.
6) Injectors may be clogged.

Better mileage.
Take advantage of hills.
Normal driving i shift at 2500 rpm.
Coast longer to a stop light. It will save gas and you still have some forward momentum if the light changes.
Just my .02
Good job changing all of the stuff. Im glad it worked.

cause of my gutted cat my car throws a CEL and i still get good gas milage...currently around 300 and still no gas light on
(and i dont baby it either)
yea like everyone says...do your regular maintence, how many mpgs do you average? is your car running rich? how many miles are on your car, when was the last time you had your car checked up.... there could be a million reasons why your car is getting shitty gas milage.

i get like 330 to 11.2 gal. cause thats when my light goes on...and that averages out to be like 29.5 mpg. just keep up with your maintiance. also i dont baby my car...the most ive gotten out of a tank when i did baby it was like 380mi
damn what the hell? nobody thought to mention something
Have you had your injectors cleaned? And I'm not talking about the cheap ****.
When I had them dirty I was getting like 11 per galon

which ecu are you running? try changing the fuel filter lately? plugs? tune up? how often do you take it up, what speed/rpm are you cruising at on the hwy...etc These all play a factor in your gas mileage
Yea if youre shifting at 5,000 and wondering why a half tank lasts a day, that's why
And if you're driving a stock 2,000lb car that now weighs 3,000lbs due to your 4 12's and rims, that could be why.. And like they said too, could be anything.. More Info always helps out.

I've been getting 27mpg in my GS-R and that's definitely not babying it. Redline atleast once a day. I'm actually quite surprised, I just got the car a short while ago and it's actually getting better gas milage than my stock civic used to.
most i've gotten on a tank is 418. when i filled up it stopped at 11.8 gallons. not too shabby with a few spurts up to redline along the way.
before i changed my fuel filter i was getting on avg 280-300 now its around 330-350 i do drive like a old lady tho until onramps appear
