Default JDM front end conversion?

I'm getting a JDM kit in a few weeks but I wanted to know what its going to take to get it on my car. The biggest pain of the whole kit in my mind is the Radiator support. Doesn't this thing have to be welded in or does it bolt on? Other than that....the whole kit bolt in right? Could someone please enlighten me on this a little more? Thanks

i did the front end last night on mine, i had the fenders, bumper and grill painted the day before, i have not done this before so i downloaded the instructions from the archives and they were close to what was needed, you do have to weld in five spots any one with a mig can do this job and you cannot see the welds anyway so they dont have to be pritty, it took me 4 hours by myself and im a beginner welder, im hooking up the lights and putting my i.c. back in tonight, its not as hard as it seems. measure twice cut once.

feders fit perfect, hood was perfect, bumper grille and lights are only as good as the time you take to line them up (take your time) and the rebar (if you want to call it that, its a hollow bar one inch around) fit perfect. I dont know why everyone told me it was so hard.

by the way is your kit oem metal or fiberglass, if yes to the fiberglass then from everything i have read and all the people i have talked too your in trouble, unless its a very high quality kit, the fitment will be bad and prone to cracking. hope you got the metal. I also only used the top of the rad support I can post the way to get the fifteen page directions with pics tomorrow at work.

The fenders are OEM Metal, the hood is Fiberglass, and the front bumper is Urethane Plastic. Hopefully it will all work. Could you post up the info 4drboost?

The radiator support for both mount in the same place's. All you have to do is take a spot weld drill bit and drill all the spot welds out so the radiator support comes off. Be careful not to bend or brake the support when taking it off. After you have the old one out put the new one in place and use clamps to hold it there. then weld it to the front end. If you have it in the right spot everything else should line up just fine. Hope this is what you were looking for.

step by step info. at wiredspeed.com its a technical database punch in jdm front end conversion. the only step not in there is the cut along the top of the rad support. it's the most complete set of instructions i came across in my searching.
let me know how it goes any more questions? sorry i take so long i work at a shop and were slammed all the time so i can only reply at lunch a couple of times a week.

wiredspeed.com jdm front conversion step by step instructions from start to finnish, its the most complete guide i have found in all the searches i have done its the one i used and the only problem is it doesnt mension about the cut along the top under the first three welds, other than that its very detailed. any more questions? im a little slow to respond because i work at a busy automotive shop and can only go online at lunch a couple of times a week.

I think the wiredspeed instructions make it harder than it has'd to be. you don't have to do any cutting besides the notching of the fenderliners. All you have to do is drill out the spotwelds on the headlight brackets, and the lower one, and pull out the T. you can see the pics from mine on http://www.skeety.com/typer.htm
