possible to fit a 6' 8" surfboard into my car?
im getting a 6' 8" board next week. i have a 98 3dr ls, is it possible to fit it on the inside without leaving the hatch open?
Why not just see when you get it, or buy a rack?
I'm thinking, if you lay your front (lean it all the way back) and back right seat down, that it should fit in there fine.

yes/no. The longest thing Ive ever put in the teg is the front bumper and it goes from the very back of the hatch all the way to the very front seat(folded down). The only problem is I cant remember if the bumper was 56" or 68" or neither one.

I'd actually have to say that a surfboard is in more of an "L" shape
But yes, I have fit in 3 surfboard (ranging from my friends 5'10" fish to my other friends 6'8") all at the same time...and that was with 3 people in the car. Just fold down the passenger-side half of the back seat and put the boards in diagonally. The tails of the boards should be perfectly snug in the rear drivers-side corner of the trunk. The noses of the boards will probably be snug between the passenger seat and the door or window. Good luck
