Default yokohama es100s?

so the time has come for me to get new tires. first off, i heard that es100s are pretty good tires for gsr. secondly, if so, discount tires got a package for four for $411 bucks?

my question to the honda-tech/integra forum-ers is, is that a good deal for es100's or are their better tires that i can get for about the same good price?

your contribution to this will be greatly appreciated.

First off, that's prolly a mounted/balanced price. Tire rack has decent prices and they can ship to a shop they directly work with to mount/balance those tires you buy. I run 205-50-15 es100's and i like em. Decent daily tire and can grip when u need it.

I've never heard of any bad experiences with these tires. Most say they are a lot better than Kumho 712's.

Yeah they are tons better according to my friends who have experience with both. They do get loud when they were down, though. I'm at the wear bars now w/ about 30K miles on mine, -2.5 camber also.

um...well..personally i had experience both tires 712 and i am on es100 rite now. i'm using 195 55 15 rite now...to me it about the same as in grip wise but the reason why i like es100 is how the wall of the es100 covers the lip of ur rim btw i'm on blades.. my 712 didn't have that so you have a higher chance or scratchin your rims.the reason why i didn't go with 205 50 15 is becuase of the price differance...i also heard that there isn't much differance between the two size in grip.

I got a set of four 195-55-15 ES100's from the Tire Rack. $230 for the tires, $30 for shipping, and another $50 to mount them. Had them for three weeks now, and they're great. Good budget performance tire.

I thought they're treadware rating was over 300 ? I would say that's pretty good for a Z rated daily driver no? Thanks for the thread, I was thinking of buying these

Um only a month? Either your camber is way off, or your doing way too many burnouts. Also if they're so bad, then how come you bought them twice?

On to the subject, I have heard many good comments on this tire..but the price you found them for, 400 or something, sounds quite high to me.

I have a set of the ES100s on my car, they came with it and had very little miles on them. I've really only had a chance to drive them in the dry(a spring w/ only 2 days of rain, go figure..) and they seem to be pretty nice. They can seem to hold the corners pretty well and they won't spin unless under rather heavy throttle. I do like them much better than the Falken Ziex ZE-502s on my old car. Those tires would not make a noise when they were slipping so it was almost hard to tell how badly you were, the ES100s let ya know with a nice loud squeal

Treadwear ratings are not absolute, they are only relevant when compared to other tires within the same brand, as each manufacturer rates treadwear differently.

Well if you car looks aything like the bling bling Teg in your avatar, im sure they'd only last a month y0

Anyways for a reference I got my 205/45/16 Es100 at Tirerack.com $350 shipped 2 day,

I drive them daily and they have done great on my Turbo Ls, they are quiet, handle nice, nice tread pattern, no problems in the rain. I didn't by them for traction however, thats why my 15" bfg drag radials are for

They are a nice tire for the $$
