Delay in start....?help?
When i get in my 94 EX and turn the key to start it will have like a 2-3 second delay before it starts. But if i turn the key in the on position and then turn to start it starts up and tonight when I tried to start it wouldnt start evrything turned on but not the car. so i shut it off and tried tro start again. The third time i took my foot of the clutch and turned the key and held it there and then when i put my foot on the clutch it started. Can someone let me know whats wrong with my car?
Funny, I just had this problem fixed today. Your lookin at the trigger switch that tells your starter the clutch is pressed down. I thought it was my starter but it was just a bad switch. costed $92.00 all said and done. good luck

Those two are more than likely your problem parts.

try this. crawl inside the car, where the clutch pedal is, there should be a switch mounted toward the top of the pedal, disconnect it at the connector, get a paper clip, and ground the two posts of the connector (not the switch but the other part connector to the switch) together then try and start the car (u shouldn't need to step on the clutch this time so make sure that the car is out of gear) if the vehicle starts reliably then replace the clutch pedal safety switch if not replace the ignition switch. hope this has help.
